Will Johnston

Managing Director

Will is a competent carpenter and Licensed Building Practitioner who has been in the building industry since 2002. He loves making people's building dreams a reality. Will is highly skilled in site management and knows the importance of clear communication between builder, clients and sub-trades. Together with his wife, Sarah, Will created the JCC Build brand and they have every intention of providing a long-term building service to the Waikato that is founded on innovation, excellence and integrity.

Sarah Johnston

Executive Assistant

Sarah has acquired essential management and multi-tasking skills as a primary school teacher and a mum to her and Will's, six kids. She also has a keen eye for detail and enjoys dabbling in interior make-overs. Sarah is passionate about spending quality time with family and friends and is proud to be part of the JCC Build team.

Gareth Cantwell

Quantity Surveyor

Gareth is a Licensed Building Practitioner who has qualifications in both Carpentry and Construction and has been in the building industry since 2003. He enjoys the variety of work that building brings, along with the opportunities that arise from working with the JCC Build team.   Gareth loves his family and friends and being in the Waikato means he can also pursue other passions, like hunting and fishing.

Murray Buchanan

Business Manager

Murray is a Chartered Accountant by trade, with a bachelor of Management Studies from Waikato University.  He has spent the first ten years of his career working for Deloitte and Fonterra across a range of analytical/accounting roles.  He is excited to join the JCC Team and contribute to the inspiring vision JCC Build is developing.  Most spare time is invested in a full family life. One day he dreams of playing golf again!

Monica Kalaam

Office Administrator

Monica originally comes from Rotorua but loves the Waikato for both the people and its central locality.  She thoroughly enjoys being part of the JCC Build team, as they make it easy to come to work. In her spare time, Monica loves to bake and has used her background in design, to create some very impressive cakes.

Deryk Print

Project Manager

Deryk is a competent carpenter and a Licensed Building Practitioner, who has been in the industry since 1997. He loves the Waikato because that’s where his family and good friends are. Deryk enjoys that building has so many different facets to the job and his favourite ‘tool’ is an apprentice.  In his spare time, he enjoys battling over a board game and spending quality time with his family.

Jono Kraenzlin

Project Manager

Jono is a Licensed Building Practitioner and has been in the industry since 2006.  He is passionate about his work and loves turning people's dreams into a reality.  Jono values the positive team environment at JCC Build, as well as the progressive/innovative mindset of the staff.  Living in the Waikato, Jono enjoys easy access to both the east and west coast.  When not on the job Jono enjoys surfing, freediving, spearfishing, basketball and spending time with friends and family.

Lance Matiu


Lance has been in the building industry since 2005 and is a qualified Licensed Building Practitioner.  He likes to get outdoors and play a bit of rugby, he also enjoys watching most sports.

Senior Apprentice

Aram is in the process of completing his carpentry apprenticeship and has been in the building industry since 2015.

Malcolm Bell

Senior Apprentice

Malcolm has been in the building industry since 2012 and is currently working on his carpentry apprenticeship.  Malcolm enjoys working with timber and his favourite tools are a chainsaw & a chisel.  Outside of work Malcolm loves surfing and says the thing he loves most about living in the Waikato is the Waikato River

Abulfazal Nazari


Abulfazal started working for JCC Build in 2018 and enjoys working in a team.  For Abulfazal, the best thing about living in the Waikato is the community and the friends he has made.  In his spare time, he loves running and playing soccer.

Elijah Nonoa


Elijah is new to the building industry and has now begun his apprenticeship.  He enjoys music, playing touch and travelling.  Elijah loves living in the Waikato as it is central to the North Island and easy to travel around.

Andrew Cumming


Andrew is new to the building industry and has a thirst for knowledge to the new trade and challenge.  He would like to work towards a building qualification and enjoys working with the friendly JCC Build team.  Andrew loves living in the Waikato as it is central and close to family.  In his spare time Andrew enjoys running, reading and cars.
