MEET OUR TEAM

Will Johnston

Director/Construction Manager

Will is a competent carpenter and Licensed Building Practitioner who has been in the building industry since 2002. He loves making people's building dreams a reality. Will is highly skilled in site management and knows the importance of clear communication between builder, clients and sub-trades. Together with his wife, Sarah, Will created the JCC Build brand and they have every intention of providing a long-term building service to the Waikato that is founded on innovation, excellence and integrity.

Sarah has acquired essential management and multi-tasking skills as a primary school teacher and a mum to her and Will's, six kids. She also has a keen eye for detail and enjoys dabbling in interior rearranging, especially when it involves new or vintage items. Sarah is passionate about spending quality time with family and friends and is proud to be part of the JCC Build team.

Shelley Cresswell

Project Manager Assistant

Shelley has a corporate background in marketing and project management at Fonterra for 17 years. Since 2016 she has worked in the building industry specifically in the high performing home market.  In her spare time she is involved in community leadership roles, being with family and restoration of collectables and antiques

Sales/Quantity Surveyor

Gareth is a Licensed Building Practitioner who has qualifications in both Carpentry and Construction and has been in the building industry since 2003. He enjoys the variety of work that building brings, along with the opportunities that arise from working with the JCC Build team.   Gareth loves his family and friends and being in the Waikato means he can also pursue other passions, like hunting and fishing.

Murray Buchanan Business Manager

Business Manager

Murray is a Chartered Accountant by trade, with a bachelor of Management Studies from Waikato University.  He has spent the first ten years of his career working for Deloitte and Fonterra across a range of analytical/accounting roles.  He is excited to join the JCC Team and contribute to the inspiring vision JCC Build is developing.  Most spare time is invested in a full family life. One day he dreams of playing golf again!

Monica Kalaam Office Administrator

Office Administrator

Monica originally comes from Rotorua but loves the Waikato for both the people and its central locality.  She thoroughly enjoys being part of the JCC Build team, as they make it easy to come to work. In her spare time, Monica loves to bake and has used her background in design, to create some very impressive cakes.

Deryk is a competent carpenter and a Licensed Building Practitioner, who has been in the industry since 1997. He loves the Waikato because that’s where his family and good friends are. Deryk enjoys that building has so many different facets to the job and his favourite ‘tool’ is an apprentice.  In his spare time, he enjoys battling over a board game and spending quality time with his family.

Lance Matiu Foreman

Lance has been in the building industry since 2005 and is a qualified Licensed Building Practitioner. His favourite part of being a builder is watching the development and growth of young apprentices, whilst enjoying a good laugh along the way.  Lance likes to get outdoors and play a bit of rugby, he also enjoys watching most sports...although that's largely kids' sport in the weekends now.

Jordon Buttery Foreman

Jordon has been in the building industry since 2005 and is a Licensed Building Practitioner. His tool of choice is a hammer, cos where would ya be without it? Jordon’s favourite aspect of being a builder is that he gets to bring to life, a client’s vision whilst working with a great team at JCC Build. Outside of building, Jordon likes to spend his time hunting, fishing and with his family.

Corey Baines Foreman

Foreman

Corey is a qualified carpenter and has been in the industry since 2018.  He loves being part of a team and his favourite tool is his hammer, commonly known as, “Harry”.  Corey loves living in the Waikato as it is a great location to base himself for adventuring around the country. In his spare time, Corey loves hanging out with family and hunting.

Aram Higgins

Senior Apprentice

Aram is in the process of completing his carpentry apprenticeship and has been in the building industry since 2015. He enjoys building because he gets to see productivity happening, as a result of being hands-on. Aram values the great team culture and variety of work, at JCC Build. In his free time, he loves going out and doing activities with his family.

Malcolm Bell

Senior Apprentice

Malcolm has been in the building industry since 2012 and is currently working on his carpentry apprenticeship.  Malcolm enjoys working with timber and his favourite tools are a chainsaw & a chisel.  Outside of work Malcolm loves surfing and says the thing he loves most about living in the Waikato is the Waikato River

Abul Fazal Nazari

Apprentice

Abul Fazal started working for JCC Build in 2018 and enjoys working in a team.  For Abul Fazal, the best thing about living in the Waikato is the friends he has made and that he is in close proximity to family.  In his spare time, he is frequently out running - road running, off-road running, bush and mountain running...if it's running related, then it's likely that he is training for or entered in the event.

Campbell Crawford

Apprentice

Campbell started with JCC Build to gain work experience and is now signed up to a carpentry apprenticeship. He enjoys building because it's a hands-on trade...and his favourite time of the day is when he gets to eat lunch. Campbell loves the Waikato as it’s central to lots of places that allow him to mountain bike, water-ski and wake-board, in his free time.

Sean Keliher

Apprentice

Sean joined the building industry about 3 years ago and signed up as an apprentice under JCC Build. He enjoys working with the JCC Build crew, to collectively create something they are proud of. Outside of work, you will either find Sean at the gym, spear fishing or renovating his home.

Andrew Cumming

Apprentice

Andrew joined the building industry in 2021, coming from a background in butchery in Auckland. He is currently working on an apprenticeship in carpentry and is well-liked member of the JCC Build team. For Andrew, living in the Waikato means that it's fairly central to lots of places and close to family. In his spare time, he enjoys running, reading and cars.

Josh Gullery

Apprentice

Josh joined the JCC Build crew in 2023 after joining the building industry the year prior. His favourite tool is a nail gun and he likes that you can physically see the improvements you've made to a building project. For Josh, living in the Waikato means that it's fairly central to most places in the North Island. Rugby is his number 1 passion outside of work.

Malachi Laird

Apprentice

Malachi joined JCC Build fresh out of high-school in 2022. His favourite part of being a builder is that he is always learning new skills. Malachi likes living in Hamilton for it's city culture and appreciates working with a friendly crew at JCC Build. Outside of work, he spends his time playing rugby or pretty much any sport.
